Houston

I had a layover.
I don't usually like them.
But tonight I did.

The sun was setting.
A brilliant orange ball that cast a pink shadow on everything it touched.
It was so bee-U-Tee-ful.
Even the escaltor looked charming.

That's what a guy on the terminal train said in his Texas accent.
Look at that sun.
Why that's just  beee-uuuu-tee-ful.
Beee-UUUUUU-tee-ful!

And it was.

I don't see sunsets like this often.
I stared and stared.
And it made me happy.

Happy to be in the airport.
Which I don't usually like.

Texans are nice.
And they dress nice too.
Everyone looks so fancy.

I don't see one person sporting lots of tatoos, wearing shorts.
Which is what you see when you are in a California airport.

Am I in the businessmen terminal?
Maybe I'm at the wrong gate.

I better check my ticket.
Cuz that would be my luck.

Flying to some business city like Chicago, when I'm supposed to be traveling to Kansas.

And they make a mean red beer at the Houston airport! :)

That's a great photo. I hope you waved to Clif and Mary Ann while you were there.

that picture is stunning and makes a layover look not so bad!

I'm a Texan! :) Good photo, too--you must have metered for the interior, and not the sunset, because it's nicely balanced.
